Tammy’s recommended protocol for dry skin incorporates all her most nourishing and deeply restorative formulations.
Begin with creamy Cleansing Milk to gently cleanse the skin while maintaining hydration. Follow with Bulgarian Rose Water to bring an added moisture boost to the complexion. Treat the delicate eye area, so sensitive to dryness, with Awakening Eye Gel, blended with rich Elder Flower. Next, nourish deeply with several precious drops of Quintessential Serum, crafted with Rose and Frankincense. In the morning, layer in protection with Spontaneous Recovery Crème, our richest and most lavish crème, and in the evening apply Celestial Rose Crème, blended with restorative Rose and deeply moisturizing Manuka Honey.
The holistic approach to replenishing dry skin relies on natural skin care, but also a nutrient-rich diet, deeply restorative sleep and gentle stress management. The skin is the body’s largest organ, and countering dryness is most effective when we remember that the skin is part of a larger body-mind system.
Choosing foods that include more raw organic vegetables and fruits, can help bring balance to dry skin, especially when we include those that are high in essential fatty acids, like Avocado, Coconut and Almond. Stress and lack of sleep also disturb the skin. Carving out time to make lifestyle changes and to establish healthy sleep habits that reduce stress, whether spending time in nature or in contemplative practice, are good support for all skin conditions.
When experiencing dry skin, it’s important to avoid any products that contain harsh or synthetic ingredients, which may reduce the skin’s ability to retain moisture or may disrupt the skin’s natural barrier function. These include overly strong soaps and cleansers, or very astringent toners, and certain makeup. At the same time, over cleansing and over-stripping the skin when removing makeup should be avoided. If you use a gentle cleanser like Cleansing Milk at night, Tammy recommends skipping the morning wash. Simply start the morning with Bulgarian Rose Water.
With a gentle circular motion, apply a small amount of cleanser to face and neck, morning and evening, whisking away impurities. Remove with a warm moist cloth. Repeat if removing makeup, and follow with your favorite floral water.
Liberally apply the floral water or tonic best suited to your skin type to a cotton pad and sweep over face and neck, morning and evening, or as needed to restore, re-hydrate and soothe the skin. Each of our tonics maintain skin’s precious ph balance.
With the fingertips, gently press ultra-concentrated treatment serums into the skin, providing essential nutrients and added protection to the skin. Use morning and evening or as needed, refreshing the skin with a luminous sheen.
Apply a desired amount to face and neck, allowing cream to absorb. May be used morning and evening, or as often as needed to nourish and protect skin, sealing in hydration with a protective veil. If you wear makeup or sunscreen, layer these over your moisturizer.
Exfoliants and treatment masks can be used up to 3 times weekly, in combination, or alone, to support deep cleansing and restoration, while revealing a fresh, polished complexion.
